Magnetoresistance of Fe-B-P glasses

Abstract
The magnetoresistance of Fe100−xBx, Fe100−xPx, and Fe80B20−xPx glasses was measured at room temperature. The anisotropic magnetoresistance ratio Dp/p = (p−p)/p of Fe100−xBx and Fe100−xPx decreases monotonically with increasing boron or phosphorus content. In the Fe80B20−xPx alloys the replacement of boron by phosphorus indicates the competing influence of the metalloids. The changes of the magnetoresistance ratio with metalloid composition are compared with the saturation moment per iron atom nb at 0 K. It is found that the experimental values can be fitted by the relation Dp/p = Anmb, with m = 7.9 and A = 1.13×10−5.
