Abstract
The article by Rocchini et al. (Aug. 31 issue)1 concluded that salt intake may have a greater influence on blood pressure in obese than in nonobese adolescents. In that study, obese subjects had a greater reduction of blood pressure in response to a low salt intake than the nonobese subjects. We do not take a position on the response of the obese subjects to a reduced salt intake. However, it seems to us that the treatment in the nonobese group differed from that in the obese group, in that the salt intake was lower in the latter group. Keywords
