Abstract
Percutaneous catheterization of the central venous system is a valuable and versatile procedure. Initially introduced for intravenous alimentation and monitoring, it can now additionally serve for hemodialysis, temporary and permanent cardiac pacing, intracardiac manipulations such as mapping, and tissue biopsy.Keywords
