Eocene decapod crustaceans from Snowdrift Quarry, South Otago, New Zealand

Abstract
Three species of decapod crustaceans, reported from Snowdrift Quarry near Milburn in South Otago, increase the number of arthropods known from that locality to five. Close similarity with faunas from previously described Bortonian occurrences supports a likely middle Eocene age for the concretions at Snowdrift Quarry. Among the 15 genera known from the Eocene of New Zealand, Rhachiosoma, Laeviranina, and Lyreidus comprise an assemblage typical of middle and late Eocene, inner shelf, sandy substrata, and Tumidocarcinus tumidus typifies late Eocene, outer shelf, silty substrata.
