Abstract
Several phases of dislocation and folding, with intercalated periods of erosion, took place during formation of the Jura mountains, and two major types of structures were developed. Formation of the range began in the Eocene; pre-Pontian (mainly Oligocene) crustal movements determined the orientation of the folds, particularly in the outer zone. Keywords
