Shear Alfvén vortices in a very-low-βplasma

Abstract
A pair of equations are derived which govern propagation of the shear Alfvén wave in a low-β (β≪me/mi) magnetized plasma. It is found that the (electron-) inertia-dominated shear Alfvén wave can exist as a two-dimensional solitary vortex.
