Abstract
; Trapezoidal keratotomy (Ruiz technique) was performed on 35 consecutive eyes for the correction of congenital post-keratoplasty, post-cataract and post-myopic keratomileusis astigmatism. The results lacked predictability, particularly in the postkeratoplasty astigmatism group. The complication rate was high and consisted of micro- and macroperforations, large postoperative axis shifts, glare, spontaneous wound separation, and vascularization of the incisions. Wound revisions and modifications of trapezoidal keratotomy are suggested for the correction of large astigmatic refractive errors. Keywords
