Abstract
The present study considers the possibility of obtaining an enhancement of stimulated molecular line radiation as a result of an electron collision induced instability. The growth-rate of the negative energy transverse wave which propagates in the dissipative active molecular plasma medium is calculated. An attempt is made to interpret the observed long-term growth of interstellar OH radiation as such a collision induced instability. A possible role played by the same instability mechanism, e.g., in gas-dynamic or plasmadynamic lasers is also suggested. Keywords
