Abstract
The Maudsley Personality Inventory (MPI) does not measure intellectual aptitudes. Low correlations were found with 2 verbal tests. These low correlations suggest the generalization that measures of maladjustment as represented by the Manifest Anxiety Scale and MPI Neuroticism scales are not related to verbal ability.
