Abstract
A new species of Besnoitia, B. panamensis (Protozoa: Toxoplasmatidae) is described from two species of Panamanian lizards, Basiliscus basiliscus and Ameiva ameiva praesignis. This is the report of Besnoitia in Panama and the 1st description of the genus in a poikilothermic host. Infectivity of the new species for the mouse, hamster, and marmoset is reported and discussed. This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
