Abstract
A new species, Cochliobolus homomorphus Luttrell and Rogerson (Ascomycetes), with the imperfect stage Helminthosporium homomorphus Luttrell and Rogerson developed on agar media or on sterilized plant parts in a culture isolated from air in Kansas. Single-ascospore analysis proved that C. homomorphus and C. kusanoi (Nisik.) Drechs. ex Dastur are homothallic. Light was essential for formation of perithecia in these 2 species, whereas perithecia of the heterothallic speices C. nodulosus Luttrell and C. heterostrophus (Drechs.) Drechs. developed in total darkness. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
