Abstract
Activities of riboflavin 5'' phosphotransferase and riboflavin synthetase were measured in 15 strains of B. subtilis with different genotype. The increased level of riboflavin 5'' phosphotransferase was observed in strains resistant to lumiflavin or lumichrome. Specific activity of riboflavin 5'' phosphotransferase was about 100 times lower than that of riboflavin synthetase. The regulation of biosynthesis of these enzymes seems to proceed non-coordinately. This phenomenon can be the sequence of the existence of many operators, controlling the flavinogenesis in B. subtilis. This publication has 5 references indexed in Scilit:
