Abstract
A solitary pulmonary lesion resembling a tuberculoma radiologically and in its gross appearance, developed following an episode of pneumonia in a farmer, 40 yrs. old. It was excised and contained Absidia italiana as proven by the finding of degenerate hyphae in the direct smear, hyphae and sporangia in section, and by yielding a pure culture that grew faster at 37[degree]C than at room temp., and that was pathogenic for rabbits. Only one Mucor infection of the lung has been reported from this country before (Ernst, 1918) which was diagnosed from sputum cultures. Keywords
