Abstract
Balanced base status of soil is in many ways important for high quality crop production. In greenhouse soils, due to intensive fertilizer application, soluble and sparingly soluble salts of basic cations tend to accumulate. Soil testing to determine the base status and for controlled fertilizer and lime application is, therefore, needed to maintain high yield and quality of horticultural crops. Keywords
