Tug‐of‐war for the antarctic krill

Abstract
A polarization has emerged concerning Antarctic krill. Those who see the krill as an abundant food source are opposed by those who view the expanding krill fishery as a threat to the Antarctic ecosystem. The author discusses the biological basis of expected krill harvests, examines the arguments concerning conservation and preservation, and notes peripheral issues affecting national positions on the krill fishery.
