Abstract
Rabbits and rats injected intravenously with crystalline silica particles (1-3 [mu] in diameter) and ovalbumin or horse serum produced more antibodies than animals pretreated with kaolin or coal dusts or untreated controls. Immunofluorescence studies in rats showed numerous cells in the spleen and lymph nodes of silica treated animals, while in the controls only few scattered antibody containing cells were present. Keywords
