Abstract
The phase diagram of quasi-one-dimensional conductors, (DCNQI)2Cu, in the plane of pressure and temperature has interesting features; It has the metal-insulator transition which is of the first order and the insulating state has the three-fold lattice distortion together with the strong magnetism apparently resulting localized moments. These are explained as due to the Peierls transition in the presence of strong correlations in Cu sites. It is proposed that the reentrant metallic state results from the crossover between classical and quantum regimes of the tunneling processes of the rotational motions of either CH3 or CH3O radicals. Keywords
