Abstract

In connection with the study of the penetration of rays from various heat sources through the outer horny layer of the skin, a method is described for measuring the transmission of infra-red through a layer of horn, 0.022 mm. thick. Marked absorption was found in the region of 3.4[mu], and beyond 6[mu].
