La Clearance Rénale De L’Amylase A L’Etat Normal Et Au Cours D’Affections Pancréatiques

Abstract
Amylase clearance by the kidney was measured in 25 normal individuals and in 8 patients with pancreatic diseases. With the conditions herein described, this clearance is fairly constant in normal subjects (148 ml/hour ± 28). In 8 patients with pancreatitis or pancreatic carcinoma, amylase clearances regularly exceeded 200 ml/hour, even in cases with normal amylase blood level. For diagnostic purpose in pancreatic diseases the simultaneous determination of amylasaemia and urinary amylase output is superior to the single determination of the enzyme in one of these media. These conclusions are valid within the limits of the use of a quantitative methcxl and at the exclusion of Wohlgemuth method.
