Abstract
The unitary group approach to the treatment of nuclear-magnetic-resonance spectra of systems with nuclei of higher than ½ spin is presented. The treatment of one- and two-body operator matrix elements in this context is discussed and some actual examples are worked out. The development is made with NMR in mind but it is otherwise completely general.
