Abstract
Theoretical calculations of the volume changes in the vascular bed due to pressure variations in it were made. From collected data, it was possible to calculate the compliance of arterial segments, pulse wave velocity in vessels, and volume pulsations of the forearm and calf. The calculated volume pulsations agreed fairly well in amplitude and in time-course with recorded plethysmograms. Keywords
