Abstract
Recursive estimation procedures were extended and applied to a mixed model where random effects at stage k were related with random effects of stage k-1. Sire''s transmitting ability estimated by the recursive procedure from data collected in 2 stages and considering the relationship among sires is equal to that obtained when all records were available at the same time. Use of recursive methods and their applicability to sire evaluation are considered. This publication has 8 references indexed in Scilit:
