Phase diagram of QCD at finite temperature and chemical potential from lattice simulations with dynamical Wilson quarks
Abstract
We present the first results for lattice QCD at finite temperature $T$ and chemical potential $\mu$ with 4 flavor Wilson quarks. The calculations are performed on a $8^3 \times 4$ lattice at $\kappa=0.15$ (the quark mass parameter) using the imaginary chemical potential method. Such a method allows to do large scale Monte Carlo simulations at imaginary chemical potential $\mu=i \mu_I$ with $\mu_I < \pi T/3$. By analytic continuation to the real chemical potential, we find a first order transition line on the $(\mu, T)$ plane, in a region relevant of the heavy-ion collision experimental search for the quark gluon plasma.
