Abstract
In 3 unselected adult human subjects subjected to an extended saturation test, the conc. of glutathione in the red blood corpuscles varied inversely with that of the plasma ascorbic acid. The initial plasma ascorbic acid values ranged from 0.08-0.8 mg./100 ml. plasma. Calculations showed that the molecular change is approx. 10-1. A possible role of glutathione in the long "latent period" for scurvy is suggested. This publication has 8 references indexed in Scilit:
