Abstract
3 adrenalectomized [male] dogs and 5 patients with Addison''s disease received oral administration of a concd. extract of the adrenal cortex preserved in glycerol. Results were a decrease in the renal excretion of Na and chloride and an increased K excretion. Glycerol-extract treatment prevented the usual Na and chloride diuresis which follows bilateral adrenalectomy in dogs. Dogs were maintained on this preparation for prolonged periods. This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
