Abstract
The AIDS epidemic presents a number of ethical dilemmas to those working with AIDS victims and their families. This article discusses the dilemma a social worker faces with a client susceptible to the AIDS virus. Should a therapist maintain the ethical principle of confidentiality or should she breach that confidentiality in order to protect a third party from harm? A model of ethical resolution is utilized in this article which considers professional ethics, values, relevant information, and ethical options in the development of a resolution to an ethical dilemma. Keywords
