THE USE OF PLASMA 125I FIBRINOGEN LEVELS FOR THE DETECTION OF DEEP VENOUS THROMBOSIS IN GERIATRIC PATIENTS

Abstract
The measurement of the plasma half life of 125I fibrinogen can be used to diagnose deep vein thrombosis, and it is therefore of especial value in geriatric patients who are very liable to this condition. It can be a very useful diagnostic tool to be used in conjunction with, or in place of, leg counting, in the clinical management of this disorder.
