Abstract
A single I v. dose of reserpine, 2 mg/kg, results in a substantial depression of the b-wave of the rabbit electroretinogram evoked by intense stimuli. All but one of the oscillatory components on the b-wave are suppressed, an effect which can be reversed by administering L-dopa. The amplitude of the a-wave remains essentially unchanged after reserpine, but the c-wave is markedly enhanced. The amplitude of the low voltage b-wave elicited by weak stimuli is not appreciably altered by reserpine.
