Abstract
An analysis has been made of the carbonyl stretching frequencies of complexes of formula cis-X2YM(CO)3(M = Cr, Mo, and W; X2 is 2,2′-dipyridyl or o-phenanthroline, and Y is a monodentate Lewis base). Force constants have been calculated for these complexes using a method described previously and their significance is discussed. Recent results for the complexes cis-L2BrMn(CO)3 where L is a phosphine or amine are also considered. Keywords
