The Creatine and Creatinine Excretion of Normal Adult Males

Abstract
Studies on 30 normal subjects for 38-60 days proved that the creatinine excretion of [male][male] and [female][female] was not an absolute value for the individual, and was not influenced appreciably by the level of protein intake. Creatinuria in the adult [male] was found to be normal and not a [female] or prepuberal characteristic. A simple modification of the Folin method for determining creatine is described, which reveals considerable amts. of creatine that may be present in urine but not detectable by the Folin method.
