Abstract
A quantitative, mathematical approach to the development of individualized dosage regimens using computer programs is described. Computer programs have been developed for calculating dosage regimens of cardiac glycosides, kanamycin, gentamicin, streptomycin and, procainamide in patients with normal and impaired renal function. The programs compute peak and end-of-interval serum drug levels from data on past doses, body weight and blood urea nitrogen, serum creatinine levels or creatinine clearance. An example of program execution for calculating procainamide dosage for a patient is presented. Keywords
