Abstract
The author derives a general solution of the linear dispersion s-d exchange model which is not based on the Bethe ansatz. The spectrum of energy levels is the same as that obtained by Wiegmann but the solutions are shown to be very general. This derivation clarifies certain assumptions made by Wiegmann (1980) and the recent controversies on the completeness of the Wiegmann states. Keywords
