Abstract
Diploid cells of Schizosaccharomyces pombe heterozygous for the mating type region (h−/h+) were converted into protoplasts. On sporulation medium the diploid protoplasts either grew vegetatively or underwent meiosis resulting in four viable ascospores. Sporulation (without regenerating of cell wall) or growth (or conversion to cells) were found to be alternative possibilities. This publication has 5 references indexed in Scilit:
