Abstract
Electron-atom impact in the presence of an external electromagnetic field, with the frequency close to the transition frequency of the atom (the resonant situation), is discussed. The cross section for elastic and inelastic scattering of an electron in the presence of a resonant electromagnetic field are obtained. Keywords
