Abstract
In 3 totally depancreatized dogs, the administration of fat was followed by an excretion of extra glucose which could not be accounted for by the glycerol portion of the fat. These animals died in every case, which shows that the results were obtained by forcing the process of gluconeogenesis to the limit. A preliminary experiment with "intarvin" failed to show its antiketo-genic action.
