Abstract
Bundles of cotton fibers have been mercerized at various controlled stretches. The x-ray orientation factor, static elastic modulus, and load-extension behavior of these fibers have been determined. The effect. of changes in fine structure on changes in mechanical properties is discussed in terms of the above data. Keywords
