Abstract
It is shown that resistance thermometry is an unreliable technique, when used to measure the temperature of thin tungsten ribbons. Optical pyrometry, power dissipation and thermionic emission in the retarding region were examined and found to be satisfactory. The implications of these observations are discussed in relation to heats of chemisorption for the N2+W system. Keywords
