Abstract
Preview “Fine-needle aspiration biopsy should serve as the primary method of evaluating thyroid nodules,” contend Dr Fitz-Patrick and his coauthors. A strong statement but one clearly backed by the results of their 30-month study of 186 patients. Indeed, their use of this relatively new diagnostic procedure cut the odds of an unnecessary operation for thyroid cancer by more than half. Keywords
