Abstract
To successfully develop nurse retention programs, a thorough organizational analysis, including the identification of problems, is necessary. Used as a management tool, focus groups that use the organization's nursing staff provide a unique method of data collection for identifying problems that exist in the organization. The authors discuss this method for obtaining information for strategic planning for retention of nurses.Keywords
