Abstract
Cow pats in England are inhabited by insects, earthworms, mites, nematodes, and protozoans. 3 seasonal groups of spp. occur summer, spring-autumn, and winter. There is also a succession of spp. as pat dries. Populations are larger than previously reported but competition is uncertain.
