Abstract
An exact theory of plasma filaments observed in coaxial accelerators is derived from a steady-state () description of the three-dimensional flow of deuterium plasma. Ionization and recombination reactions are considered. Magnetic structure of the filaments (bundles of helical field lines), density distributions, and flow field fit the experimental evidence.
