Abstract
A numerical solution for the problem of scattering of a plane wave by a dielectric sheet with an imbedded periodic array of conducting strips is presented. The primary motivation for introducing the strips is to reinforce the mechanical hardness of the sheet in certain radome applications. The study shows that with proper design the additional strips can also improve the electric transmission through the composite structure. Keywords
