Temperature Dependence of Electric Field Gradients in Noncubic Metals

Abstract
Temperature dependence of the nuclear quadrupole frequency, , of noncubic metals has been studied theoretically. It is shown that the electronic contribution to the field gradient is largely responsible for the observed behavior. The conclusions are general and apply to all noncubic metals.
