Abstract
Oxygen consumption expressed as a function of intensity of muscular exercise is represented by a curve which rises progressively, reaches a peak corresponding to the maximum consumption, then declines while the intensity continues to increase. This phenomenon may lead to false results in case a small number of tests is performed. The factors involved in this decrease of O2 consumption are discussed, with regard to intensity of effort. Keywords
