Abstract
Up to now the most effective treatment of disseminated liver metastases of colorectal primary has been intra-arterial infusion chemotherapy. The concept of delivering large doses of cytostatics to malignant tumors via vascular isolation was introduced in the 1950s. In an isolated perfusion system, the tumor-bearing liver may be supplied with a high concentration of cytostatics during the perfusion period, while systemic side effects of the drug can be avoided by complete isolation of the perfused area. Keywords
