Abstract
The behaviors of Fe-Sn interfaces were studied by means of Mossbauer spectroscopy. The samples were prepared by UHV deposition and 57Fe was used as a microprobe at the interface region. It was found that the reaction between Fe and Sn takes place even at room temperature and has two stages. The initial product was non-magnetic at 4.2 K; subsequently, microcrystals of FeSn2 gradually formed. Keywords
