Abstract
When separating perchloric acid‐soluble proteins from cell cultures and tissues by chromatography on single stranded DNA agarose columns, a novel mammalian protein with extreme affinity for DNA was isolated. Cellular localization, amino acid composition and the N‐terminal sequence suggest that the protein is a ribosomal protein with extensive sequence homology to the ribosomal protein, YL43, from Saccharomyces cerevisiae. Keywords
