Effect of Sunlight and Drying on the Inoculation of Legumes with Rhizobium Species1

Abstract
Synopsis: Seed of alfalfa and birdsfoot trefoil which were inoculated with Rhizobium were subjected to 0, 1, 3, 5, and 16 hours of sunlight, and O, 1, 2, 3, and 4 weeks of desiccation in a dry soil. Less effective inoculation resulted in some tests when the seed were subjected to 3 or more hours of sunlight or 2 or more weeks of desiccation in a dry soil.
