Abstract
It is shown that 200-type reflections appearing in hk0 electron diffraction patterns of spinels can be ascribed to double diffraction involving reflections in the first-order Laue zone. This result casts doubt on previous diffraction studies which have suggested that spinels have the space group F43m rather than Fd3m.Keywords
