Abstract
Impact-parameter amplitudes for potential scatterings are calculated in the various approximations, and the results are compared with the exact phase-shift analysis up to the second diffraction minimum. General trends of the approximate cross sections are given which should be taken into account in the study of correlation effect in nucleon-nucleus scattering experiments. An improved form of the amplitude for momentum transfer up to the second diffraction maximum is given. Parametrization of the nuclear correlations in terms of the two-nucleon amplitude is discussed. Keywords
